Our inspection, in plain words

What the inspectors looked at, what they said, and the one thing they asked us to do better.

We were inspected in November and rated Outstanding in every area. Reports are written for other professionals, so here is what it says in the words we would use at the door.

What they looked at

Two inspectors spent a day with us. They watched every room, ate lunch with the Burrow, read our safeguarding records, talked to six parents at drop-off, and asked staff what they would do if they were worried about a child.

What they said

  • Children are calm, busy and confident, and the key person system is “exceptionally strong”.
  • Staff know each child well and plan around their interests.
  • Safeguarding is effective: every adult knew exactly what to do and who to tell.
  • Meals are healthy and allergies are managed carefully.

What they asked us to do better

They suggested we share more of what children learn at nursery with families who cannot come to the door, such as grandparents who collect. We now send the half-termly learning update to every named adult on a child’s record, not just parents.

The full report is available on the inspector’s website under our registration number, and we are always happy to talk it through.
